Character Education/Classroom Guidance
Character education is a theme promoted throughout the entire school. Each class receives "Character Power" lessons on a weekly basis. Respect, Transitions, Honesty, Study Skills, Testing Skill, Being Responsible and Friendship are just a few lessons that students are introduced to. I teach them character traits that will encourage them to become efficient learners and productive citizens.
Areas to include:
Communication, Cooperation, Effort, Empathy, Growth Mindset, Honesty, Integrity, Optimism, Respect for Others and Self, Responsibility, and Self-Discipline
Students may be referred for individual counseling by self- referral, teacher referral and guardian referral. The services provided will address the immediate needs and concerns of the student. The counselor’s office is a safe place for students when concerns arise.
Small Group Counseling
In small group settings, students benefit from each other. Students participate in Lunch Bunches. Teachers make referrals for groups and permission slips will be sent home for your student to participate.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
Friendship Skills, Family Change (Separation/Divorce), Grief and Loss, Social Skills, Academic Achievement
